Digital background check for executives

A board vets a candidate before a vote. A reporter checks a name before a story runs. A private equity associate runs diligence before a management team goes into a deal memo. Almost none of that happens in front of you. An executive background check tells you, ahead of time, what all three of them are going to find.

THE STAKES

Pre-appointment vetting runs whether you order it or not

Nominating committees, general counsel, and institutional investors run their own version of this work before a board seat is confirmed. So do the executive search firms deciding whether to present you for a role. If they find something first, and you are unprepared, the conversation about you starts from a defensive position, or it does not start at all.

We build the same picture they will build, before they build it, so you already know what needs context, what has aged out of relevance, and what genuinely needs to be addressed before it becomes a question in a room you are not in.

WHAT WE SURFACE

The full record

Prior litigation, including cases that settled quietly or resolved in your favor but still show up through legal aggregators. Bankruptcy filings, personal or corporate, and the actual circumstances behind them. Regulatory filings and disclosures connected to your name. Old coverage from a company or role you have since left, and whether it still ranks for your name today. Board memberships, advisory roles, and affiliations that a diligence team would cross-reference against public statements.

We also flag anything that looks like it was planted, a coordinated negative review pattern or a smear from a former partner. We separate that clearly from anything that is simply accurate and needs a clear plan.

A Founder's Bankruptcy Case, Off Page One

A personal bankruptcy was following an executive into every conversation. Some of it we removed. The rest we buried under the truth.
